Old Barrows Safe Housing Application

PURPOSE

Old Barrows housing is a safe space for students who may feel oppressed due to their gender. The space serves primarily trans students, with a focus on trans women and trans feminine people. It also serves as a space for gender nonconforming people and other trans people (including non-binary people). Cis women are allowed into the house as the lowest priority, after trans people and gender nonconforming people. Housing membership is by application.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applying to be a member of Old Barrows housing co-op does not guarantee acceptance into the co-op and does not guarantee a spot on the Old Barrows housing wait list. The application will be anonymous and confidential. Two spaces will be reserved for for first-year and transfer students. The committee will review upperclass applications in March and decide who lives in the house that Fall. Applications for first-year and transfer students will be reviewed in June.
